We are incredibly excited to share some wonderful news with our patients, families, and community. As part of our ongoing mission to deliver exceptional, patient-focused care, we’re proud to announce a new partnership that will enhance the dental experience for pediatric patients in our region.

Since Dr. Micheal Kehoe’s retirement in 2021, our team has been committed to honoring his legacy while expanding access to high-quality orthodontic care. With two nearby orthodontic offices serving a growing population, we began exploring new ways to better meet the needs of the families who trust us with their smiles.

After thoughtful conversations and a shared vision for delivering outstanding, family-friendly dental care, we are pleased to announce that Havens Orthodontics in Romeo will now transition to become Pediatric Dentistry of Romeo—offering both pediatric and orthodontic services together in one convenient location.

Q: Who is Dr. Sarah Carrico?

A: We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Sarah A. Carrico, DMD, FAAPD, to our team! A board-certified pediatric dentist with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Carrico is known for her warm, gentle approach and her ability to connect with children at every age, from infants and toddlers to adolescents, including those with special healthcare needs.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Michigan State University and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, followed by a pediatric dental residency at the prestigious Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. There, she gained advanced training in pediatric oral health, behavior guidance, and care for medically complex patients.
Dr. Carrico is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of:

• American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD)
• American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
• Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry

A: Our Romeo office is growing! Havens Orthodontics is now transitioning into Pediatric Dentistry of Romeo, where we’ll offer both orthodontic and pediatric dental care under one roof.
Dr. David Havens and Dr. Kelly Fenn will continue providing the excellent orthodontic care you know and trust, and they’ll now be joined by Dr. Carrico and her pediatric dental team to care for even more families in one convenient location.

Q: What if I already have a dentist that I like? Do I need to switch?
A: Not at all! If you already have a dentist you love, please keep seeing them. We completely support that choice.
We’re not asking families to switch providers—our goal is to offer additional support for those who may need specialized pediatric dental care or who don’t currently have a dental home for their child. This includes children who may need extra attention, behavior guidance, or complex care, as well as those who have been traveling far to see a pediatric dentist.
Dr. Carrico and her team are specially trained to treat:

A: Families across Northern Macomb, Oakland, and Southern Lapeer counties have told us how hard it can be to access pediatric dental care nearby. Many parents have had to drive over 30 minutes or more—sometimes even further—for specialized care.
We’re partnering to bridge that gap and bring expert, compassionate pediatric dental services right here to Romeo, where they’re needed most.

Our Romeo and Washington offices are only 2 miles apart. Historically, Dr. Havens and Dr. Fenn have treated our amazing patients at both locations and this will continue.
